Yoga for Peace aims to help stress of Iraq troops

yogadownload.comAn initiative aimed at relieving the stress of soldiers in Iraq, Yoga for Peace, has been launched.


Online yoga studio is offering troops and peace workers posted in the war-torn country unlimited access to a range of virtual yoga classes.

This is not the first time yoga has been used in this context: anecodotal evidence suggests yoga is effective in easing symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) - especially through pranayama and breath awareness.

Colorado-based was launched in 2006 by Jamie Kent. Members pay a monthly fee for access to the classes, meditation exercises and music.
