Pelvis problems in pregnancy

Pelvis problems in pregnancy

Hi,

This one's for a yoga teacher (Ben). I'm nearly 8 months pregnant and am suffering from mild pelvis strain. Apparently it's something that many pregnant women have - the ligaments soften in that area and it can become really rather painful (in very extreme cases it can even lead to surgery). I'm already doing Pregnancy Yoga and have been told to avoid squats and do plenty of pelvic tilts, but I'm really wary of making it worse. Any suggestions of what might help - dietary suggestions/ asansas etc?

Thank you!

Rebecca

Hi Rebecca - I don't want to give u advice about something that i don't know an awful lot about. There is an organisation in London called "Birthlight". Don't know much about it, can't recommend it per se, but i have heard of it from someone who did some training there, and have a good feeling about it. Hope that helps a bit...

Thanks Ben - I'll have a look. It's easing up a bit anyway, so fingers crossed...
