Despite (or because of?) the recession, yoga and wellbeing breaks are still one of the most popular ways to chill out and rejuvenate.
In research by online travel firm Expedia, 88% of people questioned would like to go on a wellbei
ng break of some kind.
So it's good to hear of a new company, Electric Bloom, that claims to be offering a 'fresh approach, expert knowledge' and 'clever combinations of more traditional wellness activities'.
These include opera, supper with Masai warriors, and nature encounters.
Founder Helen Naumann says: 'I think, as a society, we have become a bit stuck in cliched concepts of wellness, and have forgotten all the experiences that can give you the feelgood factor'.
Being outdoors regularly, for example, is one of the fastest, purest ways to feel better - something that is too often forgotten.
Locations on offer include: Swaswara in India; Columbia Resort in Cyprus; SHA Wellness Clinic in Spain; Mara Timbo luxury camp in Kenya, and Shanti Maurice in Mauritius.
The level of detail on Electric Bloom's website is impressive: each escape comes with headlines such as 'Who is it for?', 'Insider Tips' and 'Benefits', helping readers to cut to the chase.
On the downside, the price of each break is not evident - punters need to 'request a quote', a step not everyone will both to take in this breakneck society of ours.
We wish Electric Bloom the very best in a tough, but ever-expanding, market.
