Hello and welcome to Yoga Abode. We are an online magazine and community for yoga fans of all ages.
You may have a passing interest in yoga, or perhaps you are an experienced yogi or teacher.
Whatever your background, we hope you'll find Yoga Abode accessible, informative and readable.
YA Magazine
We have plenty to keep you entertained and involved. Our core magazine section is frequently updated with wellbeing tips, interviews with well-known yoga fans, holistic travel articles, advice on postures, and our own, hot-off-the-press YA blog.
Whatever is new or important in the yoga world, you'll read about it here first, and because we're online, we can bring it to you first.
But we hope that what we, and our journalists, write is not a one-way street. Please keep us in the loop with your thoughts by posting your comments on our blog, or on other articles that have piqued your interest.
YA Shop
You don't need much for a yoga practice, but a good mat is essential. We feel it's also important to buy responsibly, with the environment in mind.
The YA shop brings together the best environmentally friendly yoga products available so far, wrapped up in one easy-to-navigate online store. You won't find any damaging PVC mats in our virtual store, and we only sell organic cotton blankets and straps.
We have taken the leg-work out of finding mats and yoga props that are practical, stylish and kind to the earth, all at once.
YA Community
Finally, we know yoga isn't a naturally social pastime. This isn't a hard-drinking, fast-living industry (far from it!) and it's not easy to meet other people who share your passion and interest for yoga.
Through our YA community section you can create your own profile page that details your interests in yoga and other things, and say hello to other yogis who have also signed up. Eventually you will be able to create yoga groups, based on where you live or what style of yoga you like.
Finally, and most importantly, we want to know your thoughts on the site and your suggestions for improvements or other sections.
By dropping us a line through the contact form, or picking up the phone, please tell us what you love about yoga, or find frustrating about it. Even better, share your thoughts on our forum, and let others respond.
It's your magazine and community - let us help you make the most of it.
Happy reading, happy practising, and Namaste,
Lucia Cockcroft, editor
